First Merchants held our 2020 Gold Shield Awards on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie, IN. The day was focused on recognizing our best and brightest, providing 40 awards in the areas of Sales Excellence, Service Excellence, Cornerstone Excellence and Community Excellence.

Forbes has released its 2020 list of “America’s Best Banks,” and for the third consecutive year, one of the Midwest’s legacy financial institutions ranked in the top five. First Merchants Bank, Indiana’s second largest financial services holding company, has been rated by Forbes as the country’s fifth best bank.

First Merchants Bank understands the importance of building and supporting our local communities through volunteerism. In September, First Merchants team members participated in the United Way Day of Action by serving at Ross Community Center.

It has come to our attention that there has been a merchandising payment system data breach that occurred at several Focus Brands’ restaurants between April and July 2019.
