U.S. equities ended another volatile week in negative territory as weak economic data out of Germany and China and a subsequent inversion in the U.S.

The stock market roller coaster continued this past week as escalating trade tensions sent the S&P 500 swinging over 1.3% daily on average throughout the week.

Global equity markets have come under notable pressure following a rapid escalation in trade tensions between the U.S. and China and less accommodative than anticipated commentary from the Federal Reserve at last Wednesday’s meeting.

Strong corporate earnings results and a better than anticipated economic growth report on Friday helped propel U.S. equities to new highs this past week.

U.S. stocks slid lower this past week with the worst weekly returns since May partially driven by expectations for a more volatile corporate earnings season ahead.
