We are coming to the end of a year that none of us will soon forget. 2020 has presented many challenges that our families, communities, businesses and nation have met with tenacity and resilience. Despite the necessity of serving you via alternative service options, know that we are committed to serving your needs. Our team perseveres for you and appreciates you!
As we move through the balance of 2020 while preparing for 2021, rest assured that we will remain focused on what matters most. Supporting families, businesses and communities through this crisis remains our top priority. The challenges met and exceeded by my fellow First Merchants teammates have been extraordinary and is reflective of the legacy our company has held for over 125 years.
I recently announced my retirement as CEO and President of this fine company, and leave knowing the management team we’ve developed is well prepared to take First Merchants to the next level.
Longtime First Merchants executive, Mark Hardwick, will succeed me as Chief Executive Officer, and Mike Stewart, current Chief Banking Officer, will become our President. Michele Kawiecki, current Senior Vice President of Finance, will become our Chief Financial Officer. All leadership changes will become effective January 1, 2021. I am personally excited to continue my commitment to you as a First Merchants Board Member and look forward to our next opportunity to interact.
