HAMMOND, Ind. – In continuing with our commitment to the City of Hammond, First Merchants Bank officially opened its newly designed Hammond Banking Center at 5311 Hohman Avenue on June 8, 2016. The remodeled banking center (a staple in this location since 1934) will continue to provide efficient, full-service banking which includes drive-up service. In addition, the location allows for a new partnership with Mental Health America of Lake County, a not-for-profit organization that will relocate from Crown Point to occupy the remainder of the building.
Dale S. Clapp, Senior VP & Regional Chief Sales Manager, welcomed the crowd and in particular Mark McLaughlin from the Mayor’s office. “We are very proud to remain part of the Hammond Community. Without the City and in particular Mayor McDermott’s assistance, this project would not have been possible,” said Clapp. “First Merchants could not be more excited by our partnership with Mental Health America of Lake County, as its mission and values of serving the needs of Hammond families, as well as the greater Lake County market, align very nicely with the Bank's mission as well.”
Mental Health America of Lake County has already moved 20 employees to its new offices. When renovations are complete, approximately 100 employees will work at its new location. The not-for-profit focuses on “working together to empower families, encourage healthy lifestyles, and help provide a promising future for children.”
