Economic Impact Payments

Updated Information About the COVID-19 Economic Impact Payment Stimulus Checks

On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package to aid small businesses and consumers, including direct stimulus payments to eligible U.S. residents.

The amount of Economic Impact Payments for qualifying individuals will vary based on a number of factors. Use this calculator published by the Washington Post to estimate your stimulus funds, and visit IRS.gov/getmypayment to check the status of your payment. First Merchants does not have specific information as to when your payment may arrive.

The IRS is in the process of disbursing the payments. First Merchants is processing stimulus payments as they are received.

Customers can expect to begin receiving the funds beginning March 17, 2021. However, not all customers will receive stimulus payments from the U.S. Treasury at the same time. Visit IRS.gov/getmypaymentto check the status of your payment.
As with the first and second rounds of payments under the CARES Act, most recipients will receive these payments by direct deposit. Anyone who received the first round of payments earlier this year but doesn’t receive a payment via direct deposit will generally receive a check or, in some instances, a debit card.
