Scholarships

Scholarships Sponsored by First Merchants Private Wealth Advisors

First Merchants is pleased to present multiple scholarships to Delaware County students. These scholarships were created through the estates of local Delaware County men and women wishing to help support the education of future Delaware County graduates. Scholarship details and applications can be found below.


Amburn Memorial Scholarship

The Amburn Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating Delaware County high school students with financial need majoring in elementary education.  Preference will be given to applicants with financial need, who demonstrate an ability to satisfactorily complete a college course as shown by some recognized aptitude examination, such as the College Entrance Examination Board Test prepared by Educational Testing Service of Princeton, New Jersey, whose personality and general character reflect that person’s ability to become an outstanding elementary teacher. Read Details to Apply for Scholarship

Ruth Glaser Bryan Scholarship

The Ruth Glaser Bryan Scholarship is available for graduating Muncie or Delaware County high school students with a financial need, who are planning to major in art or an art-related filed at a recognized art institute, college, or university for assistance with tuition only.  You must be nominated by your school to apply and 21st Century Scholars are not eligible to apply. Read Details to Apply for Scholarship

Ferrell W. Dunn Scholarship

The Ferrell W. Dunn Scholarship is available to any Delaware County high school graduates enrolled in an accredited pre-medical or medical school located within the United States. Read Details to Apply for Scholarship

Harold Ellison Scholarship

The Harold Ellison Scholarship is available to a Delaware County high school graduating senior who will be attending Ball State University and have been awarded the Presidential Award Scholarship by Ball State University.  You must be nominated by your school’s Principal or Guidance Counselor in order to apply. Read Details to Apply for Scholarship

Mary K. Garr Scholarship

The Mary K. Garr Scholarship is available to seniors with a financial need, who live in Delaware County, and demonstrate the aptitude, character, and motivation to be successful in educational endeavors.  You must be nominated by your school to apply.  Read Details to Apply for Scholarship

Kuhner Scholarship Foundation

The Kuhner Scholarship Foundation is available to seniors graduating from a Delaware County high school who have financial need and desire to study in the fields of theology, food chemistry, engineering, or related sciences. Read Details to Apply for Scholarship

Dwight & Virginia Deen Schoeff Scholarship

The Dwight & Virginia Deen Schoeff Scholarship is available to graduating Delaware County high school seniors who are of good moral character, citizenship, and demonstrate an earnest desire to complete their education in their chosen field.  First preference is given to students pursuing a career in music education; however, students pursuing a teaching career or any other career shall be considered.  You must me nominated by your school to apply.  Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in the United States. Read Details to Apply for Scholarship

Benjamin F. Shroyer Scholarship

The Benjamin F. Shroyer Scholarship is available to college-bound children whose parent or guardian is an employee of First Merchants Corporation, First Merchants Bank, First Merchants Private Wealth Advisors, Old National Bank, or Old National Trust Investments whose offices are in Delaware County and who have been employed with those institutions for a minimum of two consecutive calendar years by the coming fall semester. Read Details to Apply for Scholarship
